the edward j. boracchia foundation
Helping build better communities, one donation at a time. Our mission is to assist economically challenged individuals in transition and at-risk children.
We also provide support to agencies that do the same.
Our goal is to create a family oriented environment for children to grow and learn together, sharing responsibilities, successes, trials, joys and sorrows of daily life. Such a life while growing up will prepare and equip them for an independent future. As adults they will be able to stand on their own and achieve self-reliance, financial independence and social integration.

the ritter center
Our primary charity is the Ritter Center, based in downtown San Rafael. The Ritter Center is a community-based nonprofit organization that has assisted Marins low-income and homeless population for over 28 years. They help the homeless and very low-income residents of Marin, individuals and families stabilize their lives by offering a number of social service.
In addition to the agency’s own programs, they maintain a thorough referral network to link clients to other vital services available in our community.
The Ritter Center serves as a critical safety-net for Marin’s low-income, homeless, and other at-risk populations and helps those in need to become more self-reliant. Ritter Center’s main outcomes are transitioning people into housing, employment, and health, mental health and substance abuse treatment as well as improving people’s day to day living conditions.
